What side effects can this medication cause?
Possible side effects from metronidazole include:
diarrhea
dizziness or lightheadedness
headache
loss of appetite
nausea or vomiting
stomach pain or cramps
Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:
nausea, vomiting, or loss of appetite
an unpleasant metallic taste in your mouth
constipation or mild diarrhea
headache
swollen or sore tongue
If you experience any of the following symptoms, call your doctor immediately:
an allergic reaction (swelling of your lips, tongue, or face; shortness of breath; closing of your throat; or hives)
seizures
numbness or tingling
dizziness or loss of coordination
severe diarrhea
